All prices are quoted at Quad Occupancy. If you would like to upgrade to a triple, double or single or if you are a single traveller, there is an additional charge.

We recommend booking as soon as you know you can travel and have decided on which tour you would like to go on. Some of our tours can be quite popular so it’s best to secure your spot as soon as possible.

We don’t put an age limit on our tours because everyone should be included. We see the majority of our travellers are young at heart. The age demographic is usually between the ages of 18 and 35 from all over the world.

All our tours include transportation in a mini-coach or full-sized coach depending on the tour, a knowledgeable and passionate guide, all accommodation and breakfast (unless otherwise stated on the itinerary).

Our pricing is very competitive. Unlike a lot of our competitors, with us, you get so much more than a bus pass. You get accommodation, transport, a unique guide and so much more. Each tour details what you get for your money.

special circumstances we can make arrangements. If you need an alternative pick-up departure or drop-off please contact the office and we will see what we can do to assist.

As we are a proudly Canadian operator, your guide will be English speaking. We have a number of nationalities on tour meaning the guides are used to tour members not being 100% fluent in English. Some basic English helps so you can understand the guide’s commentary and instructions.

Discover Canada Tours strongly recommends the purchase of travel insurance. Safety is our primary concern with our passengers and a tour will be cancelled if there is danger. Travelling in Canada, it is very unlikely, but there is a risk of wildfires, avalanches, rockslides and other emergencies. Our policies are that we strongly encourage travellers to buy travel insurance/trip cancellation. This is very important if you are travelling during July and August and think you may be at risk with the potential poor air quality due to wildfires. If you would like more information on trip cancellation options or would like to purchase travel insurance please contact Chanel on [email protected] or on +1 (604) 689-8128 to make arrangements.

Of course you can! Many of our travellers are solo travellers. We encourage you to join and make a new group of lifelong friends. We make everyone feel welcome and inclusive.

By all means, the more the merrier. When booking, please make a note on your booking that you will be travelling with others. You may even be able to get a discount on groups over 10. Please contact us for more information.

The weather in Canada, and especially the Rockies, can be temperamental. Our suggestion is to bring a good pair of walking shoes or hiking boots and sandals in all seasons. In Summer, it is wise to pack a rain jacket as we do get a LOT of rain in Vancouver (we aren’t known as RAINcouver for no reason), a good warm hoodie, your swimming costume and sunscreen! In winter be sure to pack a very warm jacket, it can get down to -15C (and sometimes even colder) in the Rockies. If you are planning on skiing or snowboarding with us make sure you pack the required clothing. We also offer clothing rentals if you don’t have your own gear.

There are a few options that you can look into. The Canada Line runs from Waterfront Station to the airport. The commute is about 45-60 minutes. We also have Lyft and Uber in Vancouver and you can hail them through the app. We also have an agreement with EVO Cars, a local rideshare company. We can assist you in setting up an EVO account. Please reach out to [email protected] or on +1 (604) 689-8128 and we will give you the details.

Yes, they are unless there are special weather conditions that come up. We would only know this on the day of the activity. If the activity doesn’t run you will receive a refund for the activity.

Absolutely. Your guide will come around on the first day to ask if you are interested in any of the activities. The price is slightly higher than if you pre-book it at your time of booking your tour. We cannot guarantee on-tour bookings as they may sell out but we will do our best. Booking in advance is recommended.

Each of our destinations has its popular activities. These activities can be seen on each tour page.

Your guide will supply a continental breakfast each morning of your overnight tour. This will consist of cereal, toast, spreads, yogurt, fruit, tea, coffee and juice (certain tours will have a packed breakfast on some days).

Lunches and dinners are at your own expense. Our guides know the best places in each town and city depending on your budget and what you are after, and they will point these out on the way into each location.

Likewise, the tour group and guide often head out to a local pub for a beer and a meal. Meals can range from CA$15 upwards. In summer it’s not uncommon to have a campfire washed down with a few drinks and a s’more or two.

The room upgrade prices are on each of the tour pages. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

You have two options if you are a solo traveller. The first is to book a shared room where you will share a double room with one other person of the same gender. Due to COVID-19, we do not allow guests to share beds unless they are from the same party. The second option is to book a single room.

Due to storage on our coaches, we allow one standard-sized suitcase and a daypack pack that can be taken in the coach with you.

While our guides do not expect tips, by all means, they would appreciate any tip you would like to offer them. In terms of tipping for meals, the standard service tip in Canada is 10-15%, but this is at your discretion.

None of our coaches have WiFi, but most of the attractions and restaurants have public WiFi access and all the hotels have WiFi connection available to guests. Please be aware, you may be going to some very remote places that don’t have any internet at all. But that is all part of the adventure.

At most, you may walk to a scenic lookout on a well-maintained path. For the more adventurous there is sometimes the opportunity to do a bridge or rock jump into one of our rivers or lakes, however, this is completely optional of course. The one tour that does require a decent level of fitness is our Rockies Explorer tour. This tour has been specifically designed around hiking some of the most trails Western Canada has to offer.

Expect the unexpected. While the summer months (mid-June until late-August) are generally sunny and warm, we do receive a lot of rain in Vancouver. We do, after all, live in a rainforest. It can also get very warm at times. The weather in the Rockies can also be unpredictable.

For the most part, all of the attractions have their own charm regardless of the weather. If there is unfavourable weather, your guide may take you to attractions that don’t require you to be outdoors. In extreme cases, there can be wildfires in summer and blizzards in winter. Our guides will ensure that you are kept safe during these times.

You will need to buy your own lunches and dinners on overnight tours and then it is always recommended to bring some extra money for keepsakes from each destination. For day tours, you will need to purchase our lunch in the town. There are always a wide variety of restaurants to choose from.

In terms of prices, a drip coffee comes in at about CA$3, a cappuccino about CA$5. Each location has a wide range of dining options, ranging from CA$15 a person all the way up to $50-75 person. It is up to you where you decide to eat.

The tour guide is a multi-skilled ball of energy. From introducing the group members at the start of the tour to sharing their knowledge of Canada, they are so much more than a bus driver.

As an experienced guide, they also have the flexibility to take the group to different stops depending on the mood of the day. If the whole group wants poutine, you can bet your guide will find a great spot to pull over so that you can sample Canada’s national dish.

They can also suggest places to eat and drink in the evening, and can even help get a campfire going.

There will be times when your tour guide will need to spend time on paperwork, reconfirming activity/accommodation bookings and making sure the vehicle is clean and maintained so if you don’t see them around they’ll most likely be off doing the ‘housekeeping’ side of things, however, they will be around later in the day.

All of our tours are conducted in English. However, our pool of guides come from all over the world, so you may very well find yourself having a guide that speaks Spanish, Portuguese or French.
